Saint Albans Charity Players have raised an eye-watering amount for charity throughout their history – almost £50,000! They’ve just announced their new season of shows at Saint Albans Church, Mayfield Road, hoping to add to that impressive total.
First up, playing from October 25th-28th is their brand new murder mystery – “Murder On The Dancefloor”, written by Colin Gasson, who’ll also be taking on the directing reins with wife Sandie. Described as “full of audience participation”, the group will be joined by Tophat Dance School to complete the “Strictly” theme! The evening also includes a “fun, murder quiz” for the audience.

Then, heading into 2018, the group present their panto – “Mother Goose” – directed by Brian Roberts, and running from January 31st to February 3rd. A spokesperson from the group says
“Our pantos are always great fun, with plenty of audience participation. We do also need some younger members to join us to play villagers/non-speaking extras.”
Both of these shows will be raising funds for The Hope Centre, Northampton, Northamptonshire Fibromyalgia Support and Riding For The Disabled, Northampton Branch.
For more information, including show synopsis and auditions, the group are holding a meeting on the 24th of July at 7.30pm, at Saint Albans Church, Mayfield Road, NN3 2RE.
