Founder and Editor, Becki Cockcroft, talks about the brand new Interview Series, and the future of OnStage Northants as the site approaches its second birthday this June…

A little over two years ago I had the crazy idea to set up a website to promote and celebrate all the amazing theatre Northampton has to offer. At the time I was happily on the edges of the local performing arts community, and it was relatively simple to review a show, or run an interview, without any conflicts of interest! It’s fair to say that two years down the line that’s no longer the case – in the past year I’ve become involved with Masque Theatre (backstage and on it!) and White Cobra, whilst also joining the Marketing and Press team at Royal & Derngate. To say that Northampton theatre has become my life is not an exaggeration… (and I am definitely not complaining!)

While I’ve loved reviewing shows, and loved building a team of people who love to do it too, it wasn’t my intention for OnStage to be solely a review site – and somewhere along the lines in the past year that’s what it has become. I’d set out with the hope of creating a news site for Northampton theatre, somewhere for people to find out the latest information on amateur and professional productions, and somewhere for people to discover what’s on around the county.

That is why we’ve decided to launch a brand new Interview Series – to put the site into the hands of those who are out there making the Northampton theatre we love so much.

However you’re involved in Northampton theatre – whether that’s as an actor, backstage, directing, writing, you name it – we want to hear from you! The interviews are a chance for you to talk about what it is you love about Northampton theatre, what you’re working on, and what you’re looking forward to seeing in the near future.

To find out how to take part, please follow this link and complete the form. I can’t wait to hear what you’ve all got to say!

We’re fortunate in Northampton to have such a thriving theatre scene – and here’s your chance to tell everyone what’s so special about it to you.
