Northampton based Next Page Productions return to Midlands stages to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first ever Carry On Film.
Heading to The Playhouse Theatre in April, Northampton performers Caroline Nash and Steve Dimmer present Funny Faces, two poignant and funny one-person plays about Carry On stars Joan Sims and Sid James. SIMply Joan stars Next Page founder Caroline as the First Lady of the Carry On dynasty herself, and uncovers the untold story of the British Icon. Funny Faces writer Steve takes on the role of Sid James in Wot Sid Did, where we meet the legendary actor in his dressing room before his final ever performance.
Steve and Caroline are both extremely excited about bringing this new show to local theatres, as this will be the first time that they have worked together in almost 30 years. They previously toured with Steves ‘The Inflatable Theatre Company’ around Northamptonshire pubs when they were younger.
To get their production on the stage, they are reaching out to Carry On and theatre fans across the county to help them fund this anniversary show. Caroline said:
“The entire show will be funded by raising money by crowdfunding and self-funding. If anyone would like to support new writing within the area and help in getting new theatre to the stage, donations can be made (and there are perks available) by visiting https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/funny-faces-sid-james-joan-sims-the-stories/x/16179349“
Tickets and tour dates are available on their website. You can keep up to date with new dates added and when tickets become available for purchase by following them on Facebook and Twitter or you can see further information on the website www.nextpageproductions.co.uk
Funny Faces will be at The Playhouse from the 26th – 28th April 2018.
